Here's what you need
- If you subscribe to Apple Music, you can read lyrics in the Apple Music app on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, Apple TV, or Android device; or in iTunes for Windows on your PC.
- Make sure that you have the latest versions of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, iTunes for Windows, and tvOS; or the latest version of the Apple Music app on your Android device.
- To see lyrics, you need an Internet connection.
Lyrics aren’t available for all songs. Explicit lyrics and lyrics search isn’t available in all countries or regions.
How to see lyrics on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Android device
- Open the Apple Music app and play a song.
- At the bottom of the screen, tap the song that's playing to open Now Playing.
- At the bottom of the Now Playing screen, tap Lyrics . If lyrics aren't available for a song, you won't see Lyrics .
Feb 21, 2012 I made this iPhone app in less than 24 hours during Dallas AT&T Mobile App Hackathon last weekend. It's more of a proof of concept prototype.
If available, each verse appears in time with the music so you can follow along as you listen.
- To jump to a certain verse, scroll and tap any line.
- To turn off Lyrics, tap the song that's playing at the bottom of your screen to open Now Playing, then tap Lyrics .
You can also see the full lyrics for a song. Just press and hold the song, then tap View Full Lyrics.
How to see lyrics on your Apple TV
Open the Apple Music app and play a song.
If available, each verse will automatically appear in time with the music so you can follow along as you listen.
- To jump to a certain verse or see where you are in the song, swipe up or down on the Touch surface of your Apple TV Remote.
- To turn lyrics off, press the Menu button on your Apple TV Remote, then select Lyrics in the upper-right corner of the screen.
- To see the full lyrics for a song, press the Menu button on your Apple TV Remote, select at the top of your screen, then choose View Full Lyrics.
How to see lyrics on your Samsung TV
Set up the Apple Music app on your Samsung TV. Then open the Apple Music app and play a song.
If available, each verse will automatically appear in time with the music so you can follow along as you listen.
- Use your remote to jump to a certain verse or see where you are in the song.
- To turn lyrics off, select Lyrics in the upper-right corner of the screen.
- To see the full lyrics for a song, press and hold the song using your remote, then choose View Full Lyrics.
How to see lyrics on your Mac
- Open the Apple Music app and play a song.
- In the upper-right corner, click Lyrics .
If available, each verse appears in time with the music so you can follow along as you listen.
- To jump to a certain verse, scroll and click any line.
- To see the lyrics in full screen, go to the menu bar and choose Window > Full Screen Player.
You can also see the full lyrics for a song. Just select More to the right of the song, click Get Info, then click the Lyrics tab.
How to see lyrics on your PC
- Open iTunes for Windows and play a song.
- At the top of the window, click .
- Click Lyrics to see the full lyrics for that song.
If you don't see lyrics or notice inaccurate lyrics
- Lyrics aren't available for all songs.
- If lyrics are available for a song but you don't see them, make sure that your device is connected to the Internet.
- If you notice incorrect lyrics, you can send Apple Music feedback.

- You can also add custom lyrics on a Mac or PC. In the Apple Music app on Mac or iTunes for Windows on a PC, click next to a song’s name and choose Get Info. On the Lyrics tab, select Custom Lyrics, enter lyrics, then click OK. To sync custom lyrics across your devices, you need a subscription to Apple Music or iTunes Match.
- You can also search for songs by their lyrics in Apple Music, or ask Siri to find songs using lyrics.
- If you have explicit content turned off, you might not see lyrics that have explicit words. Learn how to turn explicit content on or off with Screen Time on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or with Screen Time on your Mac. You can also turn restrictions on or off for your Apple TV or Android device.
